Welcome
to TCA's Latin ExCET Preparation
To teach in the state of Texas, individuals are required to pass the Examination for the Certification of Educators in Texas. The Latin ExCET is reported to be a difficult, challenging test requiring an ability to manage your time well plus mastery of your material. A special thanks go to Peder Christiansen, Ed George, Paul Allen Miller, and Tim Moore, who constructed a practice exam and compiled some review materials and tips for taking the exam. The result of their hard work is this "mini-site" at TCA's main website. Additional thanks go to Tim Moore, who regularly reviews the material on this site, corrects errors and adds additional useful information. Without him, this site would not be up to date. Tibi gratias ago. You can now find a study guide for the Latin ExCET online at http://www.excet.nesinc.com/ which is in PDF and HTML formats. The general ExCET exam schedule that remains for 2002-2003 is as follows (from http://www.excet.nesinc.com/TE_testdates.asp):
The State Board for Educator Certification can be found at this site: There is a specific page called "How to become at teacher in Texas" at http://www.sbec.state.tx.us/certinfo/becometeacher.htm which might be of use as well. Good luck with your exams! |
